1. Do I have to pay anything to look at houses or book a lodging?

No, you may browse and book for free. There will be obvious rental costs if you rent or have someone host you in their home or reserve lodging through the booking engine for hotels. 

 

2. How can I nominate my charity on Julé Travel?

Please email Julé to submit your nomination.

 

3. How do I upload pictures on my profile?

Login and click on "My Account". You will then have the options to update, view, or add photos. Click add photos. Browse to select your photo, add a caption and press "upload file". If you have any problems or questions email Cara.

 

4. How do I upload videos on my profile?

Login and click on "My Account". You will then have the options to update, view, or add photos. Click on "update". About 2/3 of the way down the page, there is a box that says "videos", type or paste in your videos embed code into the box. Click Submit. If you have any trouble or questions email Cara.

 

5. What is the difference between home hosting, renting, or swapping?

Hosting: You charge people to stay in your home while you are there.

Renting: You charge rent for someone to stay in your home while you are not there.  

Swapping: You stay in someone else's home while they stay in yours.

 

6. How can I be sure the person I am renting/hosting or swapping with is trustworthy?

We recommend having as much contact with the person as possible. You can video chat over the internet, talk on the phone, email and, if you are traveling to see your friends or family, ask you friends/family to meet them in person.  You can also connect with the person via FaceBook and/or Linked In.  See our Tips and Background Check pages for more info also. 

 

7. If I join and list my home, are there any other costs I will incur during the year?

No, you will only pay your membership fee.  This will be your only cost for listing your home on Julé Travel.

 

8. How can I protect myself with insurance?

See the Travel Insurance page under How it Works to find out about travel insurance options.  We do recommend contacting your insurance provider to be sure your home is protected also.
